Because Nashville? Or maybe, as others have said, more money than brains.

Apart from the obvious reasons, this is bothering the hell out of me because of this.

I don’t like that they’re facing different directions

Especially on a dually, which most sensible people buy especially for the purpose of towing and using as a truck.

Oh, God, just when I thought it couldn’t get any worse. Thanks for triggering my mild OCD.

I don’t think they’re facing different directions, I think it’s that the rear tires are sunk inwards while the fronts are very much pushed outwards from the center. So this is a “dually” wheel designed to eliminate the need for dual wheels on the back........oh how wonderfully stupid this is!

Its all about facebook and youtube and self worth derived by ‘likes’. It’s all manifested itself in this. “Look at what cool i made! Arent i awesome?”
No.

I like driving cars that are kind of crap every day and modify it to make it worse.
guy probably uses a tree chipper for shredding documents. like tire bills.

Because some people want to carry 5 passengers and 4x8 sheets at the same...OH GAWD NO THE RIMS
![]() 01/10/2018 at 00:17 |

Not quite. Standard dusky wheels are majorly offset so the rear wheels one faces out the other in and the mounting surfaces meet where they connect to the hub. The fronts are the same rim mounted outward. This truck still has dual wheels in rear of you look closely

Eh... meh. Not something I’d do but the rims really don’t bother me. It’s a dually, it should be set up for road manners rather than off road ability, and they’re never going on anything more than gravel anyway... if they like the look of the rims why the hell not. What DOES bother me are the aggressive tires and Carolina Squat.

I hate rubber bands as much as the next guy, but what exactly keeps them from using it as a truck and towing?
![]() 01/10/2018 at 09:29 |

Those low profile tires are made for passenger SUVs and smaller trucks - not HD trucks. They have a lower load rating of about 2000 lbs, compared to the stock tires which will have about a 3000 lbs load rating. Those crew cab duallys can have up to a 14000 GVWR (curb weight + max payload). 6 tires at 2000 lbs each is only 12000, and payload is not always going to be distributed evenly in the vehicle.

Donks for rednecks? That’s my best guess. Or a childhood obsession with Tonka trucks

I don’t know the size or what tires they are, but people have been putting rubber bands on duallys for years. Maybe they’re using inappropriate tires, a different size, or don’t need the full rating, I don’t know.

Just because people do it doesn’t make it safe. I would love to see the ratings of a lowered or lifted truck put through manufacturer or SAE towing and payload testing.
